It may take until mid-June until a winner is declared in the Pennsylvania Republican Senate primary.

Mehmet Oz holds a 1,079 vote lead over David McCormick, amounting to 0.08% of the 1,340,248 total votes. The race is likely headed for a recount.

It was reported that a mistake in the printing of mail-in ballots made some 21,000 of the ballots in Lancaster County unreadable by vote counting machines.

Pennsylvania’s handling of mail-in ballots was the subject of much criticism and charges of outright fraud in 2020.

Trump is one of the few who is openly asking what exactly is going on in Pennsylvania.

Trump said in a May 22 statement: "Can you imagine? The Pennsylvania Primaries ended 5 days ago, with early voting of possible Fake and other Mail-In Ballots going on for weeks, and we still have no idea of what is happening, or when it will all end. France counted millions of PAPER BALLOTS on their Election Day, no problem! It is all strictly 3rd World, which is what our Country is becoming with Open Borders, Rigged Elections, Rampant Inflation and Energy Inferiority. We are becoming a large scale version of Venezuela!!!"

Pennsylvania’s Department of State, which oversees elections, said Thursday that there are about 17,000 mail-in ballots in the Republican primary left to be counted.

Statewide, McCormick was doing better than Oz among mail-in ballots, while Oz was doing better among votes cast on election day. Counties also must still count provisional, overseas and military absentee ballots before they certify their results to the state by Tuesday’s deadline.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board on Thursday was griping that Trump might "cry foul" if Oz were to fall behind as the ballots continue to be counted days after the election ended.

Trump said of the Journal: "I do believe that The RINO (Wall) Street Journal Editorial Board actually thinks that what is going on in Pennsylvania with voting is a wonderful and transparent event, and they are so proud to be a part of it. Actually, it’s a disaster, and so are many of the policy statements of The Wall Street Journal. We are laughed at and taken advantage of all over the World, and now, especially after 2020, that includes our Elections! Still waiting Pennsylvania??? Keep protecting China WSJ!!!"

Pennsylvania's counties have until June 7 to complete the recount and until June 8 to report their final results.

Either McCormick or Oz will go on to challenge current Pennsylvania Democrat Lt. Gov. John Fetterman in the general election in November.
