The U.S. Mint is offering Americans a bronze medal to commemorate "United States Capitol Police and those who protected the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021." Clicking on the Mint's "description" of what happened that day finds J6 protesters described as "a mob of insurrectionists."

Quick reminder: No J6 defendant was ever charged with "insurrection."

The coin/medal, is available in 1.5 or 3 inches in diameter and costs between $20 and $160.

The Mint refers to the J6 medal as a "perfect gift for current and former police officers."

The description on the U.S. Mint website for the medals states:

"On January 6, 2021, a mob of insurrectionists forced its way into the U.S. Capitol building and congressional office buildings, engaged in acts of vandalism and looting, and violently attacked Capitol Police officers. These law enforcement heroes, along with responding officers from the D.C. Metropolitan Police, exemplified patriotism and commitment as they risked their lives in service to our country."

The U.S. Mint is part of the Treasury Department.

The director of the U.S. Mint is Ventris Gibson, who was appointed to a five-year term in 2022 by Joe Biden.

Revolver News noted Gibson is "Biden’s hand-picked U.S. Mint Director, proudly celebrated for being the first black woman to hold the position. And what’s her big claim to fame? Slapping left-wing conspiracy theories onto a coin and selling it for profit.

"Here’s a real historic 'first' idea that needs to happen: President Trump should make Ventris Gibson the first black female U.S. Mint Director to be fired for spreading propaganda and shameless lies. And while we’re at it, that phony J6 coin should be yanked out of circulation immediately, chucked into a smelter, and melted down into liquid gold—maybe then, for the first time, it’ll have some actual value."
