Editor’s Note: While the media and other leftist elites ignore the millions of folks living in “flyover” states, they do so at their own peril; it was this silent majority that put President Trump in the White House.
Well, it finally happened. Heartlanders – from the mountains to the prairies – went all in on impeachment talk and spent a week praising Trump, condemning the Democrats, and repeating their vows for getting every red-blooded American to the polls. The circus-like atmosphere of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) signing ceremony and Sen. Roy Blunt’s (R-MO) declaration the Senate Republicans may be traitorous in chambers were the last straw for decorum amongst the rank and file.
To say the MAGA base, centrally located in flyover states, are taking up arms – literally and figuratively – for their country this week would prove a gross understatement.
Unable to escape the incessant blather of impeachment, a discussion began to boil in regards to what a backstabbing U.S. Senate would mean for America, the Republican Party, and a field of Democrats vying for a chance to quixotically swipe at Donald J. Trump in November. The pot finally bubbled over after Blunt told reporters Trump did not have the votes of the Republican-controlled body to dismiss the charges. Heartlanders pounced – and threatened those RINOs seeking re-election with what that might mean gazing into the future.
In the Land of Enchantment, one man fighting for the state being held hostage by a progressive-dominated government, Dave Metcalf, offered a reminder to coattail riders, saying, “People do not realize how much cover Trump has given these wishy-washy Republicans, nor do they realize the depth of the swamp in the GOP.”
In other words: We are paying attention and will be at the ballot box time and time again. In Texas, Larry Cervenka mused, “One thing you can say about Democrats, they are wrong on almost everything, but they are stubborn and keep going after their agenda.”
Utahn Gary Larsen made no bones about it, simply stating “RINOs won’t get a pass this time – enough is enough.”
And then there was the Speaker of the House, who pushed the already angry electorate into a frenzy. As Nancy Pelosi was handing out souvenir impeachment pens to a “somber” congregation of House members, the not so silent majority scoffed at her hypocrisy and what most consider an incoherent opening statement. Tressa Schifflett Todd in Kentucky wondered aloud, smacked the smug off the process, and offered the Trump team some advice:
“Maybe that’s why she held up the articles, she had to wait for the engraved pens to arrive in the mail. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Trump were to order a bunch of engraved pens, saying ‘You’re FIRED’ and hand them out to every Democrat who loses their seat this November?”
It seems flyover folk – who are beyond educated about the impeachment process – struggled to connect the zombie-like demeanor and Sister Mary Elephant scolds by Pelosi to remain “somber” a few days prior with the celebratory act of handing out souvenir pens. The happy countenance on crazy Rep. Maxine Waters’ (D-CA) grinning face as she held her trophy high said it all. “This is so sad. So crazy the Democrats would do such a thing. Like a slap in the face to all us Americans who voted for Trump,” said Michiganer Dawn Klinesmith.
But many Midwesterners – upper and lower – and Southwesterners, appeared to feel the same disdain that Judy Westover from Ohio did when she commented, “She looked ridiculous making one chicken scratch with each pen.” Yes, it took Pelosi 23 attempts to get her name signed and her trinkets commemorative.
A note to the Democrats – you should not have pi**ed off the not so silent majority this close to November 3, 2020. They are fired up. The good news for Dems and RINOs that lose their government jobs? The pen will be worth big bucks on eBay when Trump settles into the Oval Office for another four years.
