Sam Brinton, a drag queen and defender of underage gay prostitution, is earning a salary in the top one percent of all government employees and may have been granted high level security clearances as a top official at the Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy, a report said.
A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by The National Pulse reveals Brinton’s taxpayer funded salary of $178,063, which is around five times the national median individual income.
Brinton also may have been granted top secret “Q clearance” level in the Department of Energy. The designation Top Secret is applied to information “the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security.”
“Access to Secret Restricted Data requires a Q access authorization,” the agency said.
WorldTribune.com, reported on July 5 that Brinton, who goes by the pronouns “they/them”, boasted about being one of the “very first genderfluid individuals in federal government leadership.”
A 2017 article in the newspaper at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute said Brinton has a history of sexual fetishes and kinks that include dog-role-playing.
The National Pulse first revealed Brinton’s drag queen alter ego – “Sister Ray Dee O’Active” – in early February. On July 5, The National Pulse revealed how Brinton had defended underage gay prostitution website Rentboy.com in a 2015 op-ed.
On Feb. 2, an anonymous Department of Energy whistleblower sent a letter to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Deputy Inspector General Norbert Vint, alleging that “prohibited personnel practices” were utilized in tapping Brinton for the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition.
“Undue political influence and preferences were applied” at the DOE to select Brinton for the position, which the employee also alleged Brinton was potentially unqualified to hold, the letter claims.
